Zelensky signals willingness for wartime election to show readiness for peace compromises

President Volodymyr Zelensky has explained that his consent to holding elections despite the ongoing war is driven by a desire to demonstrate Ukraine’s readiness for compromise in peace negotiations, first and foremost to its partners, particularly the United States.
